The name satna drived from a river called satna. Its earliar name was Sutna. There was a very popular rishi called "Suteekshna Muni".It is said that he belonged from ancient Ramayan Period.After his name the river got its name. Earliar it was called sutna and after some time the name has changed to Satna. satna has a long history.In Ramayan Era it is said that Lord Ram stayed in a region Chitrakoot .
